TB-Joshua

The trial of the general overseer of ‎the Synagogue Church of All Nations TB Joshua at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja has been adjourned till December 11 due to the failure of the accused persons to show up in court.

The Lagos State ministry of justice had on Sunday announced that TB Joshua, his trustees, and the engineers involved in the construction of the collapsed synagogue building would be arraigned in court over the death of 116 people in the tragedy.

However the trial failed to commence as all of the accused persons failed to show up in court.

Counsel to the engineers Oluwaseun Abimbola, explained that his clients were absent because the ministry of justice failed to serve the necessary court papers.

In his reply, the Commissioner Of Justice, Adeniji Kazeem explained that the ministry could not locate them to serve the papers because they did not have valid addresses.

After listening to both counsels, the judge ordered that the notices be served within 72 hours and cautioned the defendants not to trivialize the trial, which he referred to as a “criminal case”.

He then adjourned the trial till December 11.
