Bafarawa-2

Former Sokoto governor, Attahiru Bafarawa has been arrested by the EFCC.

Bafarawa and the anti-graft agency had been playing hide-and-seek for months over allegations that he was used by former President Goodluck Jonathan and former National Security Adviser Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) to launder over N4.1billion in federal funds meant for the purchase of arms to fight Boko Haram.

Bafarawa’s son was picked up yesterday, and analysts speculate that he may have revealed his father’s location to the EFCC.

The former governor was subsequently arrested this morning and is now being interrogated by EFCC investigators in Abuja.
