Fire Guts Ebonyi INEC Office


Fire has burnt down the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The fire disaster, which was caused by bush burning exercise, started from a far distance before it engulfed the entire INEC office in the area.

The incident occurred a day after five family members was rendered homeless in another fire outbreak in Uburu community, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state.

Confirming the INEC fire incident Wednesday, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Izzi Local Government Area, Hon. Richard Idike explained that the fire incident caused a lot of damages as nobody was within the premises of the INEC office when the fire started.
