Mustapha Sani, Kaduna state director of the Department of State Services (DSS) has alleged that Islamic group does not recognise the sovereignty of Nigeria.

Mustapha added that the group owes its allegiance to Iran from where they receive financial assistance and support, This Day reports.

He further told the judicial commission of inquiry investigating the December 12-14, 2015 clashes between the Shiites and the Nigerian Army in Zaria that the ultimate objective of the group is the establishment of an Islamic state.

According to him, the Shiite conducts paramilitary training for their members.
