The authorities of the Lagos State University have lifted the suspension placed on 11 former executives of the Students Society of History and International Studies of the institution.

This was contained in the university’s official bulletin ‎obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Lagos.

NAN reports that the students were suspended for organising the association’s award night on February 11 at which a female student, Omolara Gbadeyan, took ill and later died.‎

Gbadeyan took ill at the Igando venue of the party and later died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

The President of the LASU Students Union, Tayo Sekoni, had told NAN that autopsy report revealed that Gbadeyan died of natural causes.

According to the university bulletin, all the affected students have been directed to report to the Students Affairs Division ‎for proper counselling.

It said the university had also approved the recommendation of the Students Disciplinary Committee that the students be warned in writing to desist from acts of misconduct. ‎

The bulletin listed the affected students as Awolola Ademola, Omoeboh Oluwatobi, Aruba Kareem, Shenjobi Tumininu and Eletu Bidemi.

Others are Kudayah Esther, Yekini Oluwaseun, Omokeji Shobowale, Balogun Matthew, Odeyemi Tope and Aka Abiodun.
