Abuja, Nigeria — Leaders of Nigeria’s House of Representatives have congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of his 74th birthday, praising his leadership and policy direction as the country marks the milestone.

President Tinubu, who was born on Sunday, March 29, 1952, turns 74 on Sunday, March 29, 2026, and has received goodwill messages from political leaders and public officials across Nigeria.

The Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, conveyed his message in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi. Abbas described the President as a pro-democracy advocate, experienced public administrator, and freedom fighter who has played a major role in Nigeria’s democratic development.

He noted that the President had built a wide coalition of progressive Nigerians committed to national advancement and collective pride. Okay News reports that Abbas also highlighted the policy direction of the administration, particularly the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is focused on reforms aimed at improving governance and economic stability.

The statement read, “Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration, Nigeria is recording far-reaching reforms and realignment of its resources for the betterment of the people and for generations to come.

“When President Tinubu assumed office, he confronted the challenges facing the country head-on with unprecedented courage, taking tough decisions, which have since started yielding fruitful results and taking Nigeria to the path of growth and development.”

Abbas also referenced reforms in revenue generation, transparency, infrastructure development, and coordination of security efforts. Speaking earlier at the national convention of the All Progressives Congress, Nigeria’s ruling political party, he added, “Today, the foundations are being reset. Revenues to states have improved.

“Transparency has increased. Infrastructure is advancing. Security coordination is strengthening. These are not isolated steps. They are part of a clear direction.”

Similarly, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, commended the President’s leadership, describing it as visionary and impactful. His message, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogwu, credited the administration with positioning Nigeria for future progress.

Kalu praised economic reforms introduced under the Renewed Hope Agenda, stating, “The economic initiatives and policies anchored on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda will continue to impact positively on the citizens and the generations to come.”

He also wished the President continued good health and wisdom, adding, “His Excellency, as you celebrate another year of life, I acknowledge your dedication to public service. I celebrate not just your life, but the impact your administration has had on our country. Your visionary leadership has shaped our nation’s destiny.

“May your vision continue to guide us towards greatness. I wish you many more years in good health and the wisdom to continue piloting the affairs of our nation. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency. Congratulations, sir.”

The birthday comes as Nigeria continues to implement economic and governance reforms under the current administration, with political leaders using the occasion to assess progress and reaffirm support.
