The Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph, confirmed that the monarch regained his freedom at Gbelegun village, a riverine community in Edo State on Sunday morning.

He said that the traditional ruler was rescued through the combined efforts of the marine police, Police anti-kidnapping squad and some military officers.

The monarch was abducted from his palace by 10 armed men who invaded his palace at about 10:00pm on Tuesday.
