Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has extended a compassionate gesture to students studying medicine in Sudan by approving limited slots for inter-university transfer.

This opportunity, granted on humanitarian grounds, aims to facilitate the smooth continuation of their medical education.

However, students must pass a screening examination and obtain approval from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

The decision, approved by the Vice Chancellor of ABU Zaria, offers a lifeline to returnee students who wish to transfer their medical studies to Ahmadu Bello University.

Interested candidates are urged to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Visit the Website: Access the ABU Zaria portal via portal.abu.edu.ng/forms and press “Enter” to begin the process.
  • Registration: Click on “Register Now” to create login details, and then proceed to register.
  • Login: After registration, log in using the provided email and password.
  • Form Purchase: Under “Buy Forms,” select “Interuniversity Transfer” as the program type.
  • Course Selection: Choose the faculty and specific course (e.g., Clinical Sciences) for which you are applying.
  • Profile Information: Fill in all required personal details and upload necessary documents, including admission letter, transcript, and JAMB result (where available).
  • Payment: Complete the application process by clicking on “Pay Online” to generate the Remita for payment.

It is essential to note the following:

  • The application portal will be open until January 31, 2024.
  • Eligible candidates will be invited to participate in a placement examination, the details of which will be communicated in due course.
