Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has adjusted the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state to now last for 12 hours daily.

The curfew was initially enacted in response to the activities of hoodlums who caused mayhem by attacking residents and looting properties, both from government warehouses and private-owned stores.

The hoodlums, driven by hardship, targeted food and non-food items, causing significant disruptions to the livelihoods of citizens.

The Adamawa Police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that arrests have been made, and the command is preparing to bring the suspects to court.

However, following a meeting with security chiefs, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, announced the relaxation of the curfew.

It will now be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, providing a window for residents to engage in essential activities.

Governor Fintiri urged parents to ensure their children attend school to promote normalcy and facilitate the smooth running of businesses.

Additionally, he issued a stern warning to hoodlums and residents to comply with the curfew and cooperate with security personnel when approached and questioned.
