Adamawa Increases Corps Member’s Monthly Stipend From N2,000 To N10,000

Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State on Monday increased the N2,000 monthly stipends for each National Youth Service Corps members serving in the state to N10,000.

Bindow announced this while receiving the management team of the NYSC, who paid him a courtesy call at the Government House in Yola.

He said: “I feel it most expedient to review the N2,000 monthly stipend of corps members serving in this state to N10,000.”

Bindow said the gesture was in appreciation and recognition of the socio-economic contributions of the NYSC to the development of the state.

He said his government had also approved fund for the purchase of 36-seater bus for the NYSC.

He said: “We find it necessary, due to the present economic situation of our people, and as you all know the APC represents change.

“We will continue to provide welfare and social security to mankind as one of the cardinal visions of our great party.”

Bindow also approved the relocation of Internally Displaced Persons from the state NYSC orientation camp in Damare to Malkohi for the corps members to resume orientation in the state.

He said he would collaborate with the NYSC and security agencies to ensure that the next batch of corps members were hosted in the state.

The State Coordinator of the NYSC, Umaru Jauro, lauded the governor for his support.

Jauro said he was directed to get in touch with Bindow on the security situation for corps members to resume orientation in the state.
