Abuja, NIGERIA – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the immediate expulsion of Nafiu Bala Gombe and ten other high-ranking members following resolutions reached at its National Convention.
Okay News gathered that the decision was ratified during the party’s convention held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Rainbow Event Centre in Garki, Abuja. In a statement released on Wednesday by the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party explained that the disciplinary action was taken due to acts deemed inconsistent with the ADC constitution, values, and internal disciplinary framework.
The list of expelled members includes prominent figures such as Hon. Leke Abejide, Kingsley Temitope Ogga, and Don Norman Obinna, alongside Nafiu Bala and several others. The motion for their removal was presented and adopted by delegates under the leadership of the National Chairman, Senator David Mark.
According to the statement, the affected individuals have ceased to be members of the ADC with immediate effect. The party noted that they are now “at liberty to explore other political platforms” and that any other political party is free to receive them.
The ADC emphasized that the move is part of its broader commitment to maintaining discipline and internal democracy as it prepares for the 2027 general elections. Despite earlier attempts by the authorities to disrupt the convention venue, the party successfully concluded its proceedings, asserting its position as a “credible and viable alternative” for the Nigerian electorate.
