The President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Muhammad Magaji, has reiterated the association’s commitment to strengthening collaboration frameworks that will enhance innovation, improve productivity, and accelerate the transformation of Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.

Speaking at his inauguration ceremony held at the 2025 National Agricultural Showground along the Abuja–Keffi Road in Nasarawa State, Magaji applauded the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for prioritising the repositioning of agriculture and intensifying efforts toward sustainable food production and security.

According to the statement issued by the association in Ado Ekiti, Magaji emerged as President following the election of a twenty seven member National Executive Council conducted during the association’s congress, which was held in accordance with a resolution adopted by Nigeria’s General Assembly of Farmers.

Okay News reports that Magaji urged farmers across the country to work collectively with the Federal Government to realise the renewed national strategy for agricultural progress. He stated, “We are calling on all members of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria nationwide to give us maximum support. The Tinubu-led Federal Government is fully committed to agriculture and the welfare of farmers. All they need is a unified umbrella body of Nigerian farmers.”

The association’s new leader added that his team would collaborate closely with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to increase food production and bolster food security across Nigeria.

The immediate past president of the association, Kabiru Ibrahim, expressed unwavering confidence in the newly inaugurated executive, commending their capacity to reposition the organisation. “I know there is a lot of work ahead, and I know you are capable. I wish you the best of luck and wish the All Farmers Association of Nigeria family successful production and enhanced productivity,” he said.

A major highlight of the new leadership structure was the inauguration of the National Youth Leader, Chief Tunde Adeyemi, who emphasised the indispensable role of young farmers in Nigeria’s agricultural development. He declared, “Nigeria’s agriculture is powered by youth — the young farmer who wakes up each morning to cultivate the soil, raise livestock, add value, and sustain the heartbeat of our great nation. Today, we begin a new journey to strengthen that power.”

Chief Adeyemi stressed that agriculture should evolve into a sector of prosperity, innovation, and national pride. He pledged that the National Executive Council would broaden access to training, funding, mechanisation, irrigation facilities, drones, digital agriculture, partnerships, investments, and global collaboration opportunities.

He also assured young farmers across Nigeria that the association would create structures in all states and local government areas to bolster youth participation and influence. He called on youth leaders and coordinators to support the collective mission of attaining food sufficiency nationwide.

The newly elected National Executive Council includes Chief Daniel Okafor (Deputy President One, Administration); Chief Asuquo E. (Deputy President Two, Operations); Dr. Femi Otunba Oke (National General Secretary); and Honourable Hassan Abubakar (Vice President, Liaison and Technical Services).

Others are Alhaji Dauda Bungudu (Vice President, Arable One); Mr. Christopher Aghuno (Vice President, Arable Two); Alhaji Uba Dan Arewa (Vice President, Livestock); Chief Patrick Weridonghan (Vice President, Fisheries); Dr. Vitus Enwerem (Vice President, Horticulture); Vincent Amaabai (Vice President, Roots and Tuber); Olumide Ayinla (Vice President, Industrial and Tree Crops); Chief Tunde Adeyemi (Youth Leader, Vice President); Yamusoa Ladi (Women Leader, Vice President); Salisu Muktar (National Publicity Secretary); and Shehu Bello (National Organising Secretary).
