Agbara Nla: The Return earned more than ₦71 million in single-day cinema previews, its distributor, Nile Entertainment, said as the Nigerian faith-based film began its nationwide release on October 2, 2026.
Nile published the figure in a promotional graphic and accompanying Instagram announcement. Okay News reports that the amount is the distributor’s reported preview revenue, rather than an independently audited box-office total.
The claim concerns advance screenings on a single day. It should not be read as the film’s opening-weekend revenue or its final cinema earnings. Okay News has not independently established a box-office record from the announcement.
The release revives Agbara Nla 33 years after the original production. Written by Mike Bamiloye, the earlier film was released in 1993, during Nigeria’s home-video era.
According to The Guardian’s account of the production, Bamiloye’s sons, Damilola and Joshua Bamiloye, directed the new film and Chris Odeh produced it. Mount Zion Film Productions, Sozo Films and Circuits were involved in the production, with Nile handling theatrical distribution.
The distributor’s October 2 announcement said the film was showing in cinemas across Nigeria.
