Ahmed Lawan elected Senate president

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has been elected as Senate President.

Okay.ng understands that Lawan had secured the required votes to beat his sole opponent, Senator Ali Ndume.

Lawan polled 79 votes as against Ndume who polled 28 votes.

The election followed the inauguration of the Senate on Tuesday.
