An Air Peace flight from Lagos experienced a runway excursion upon arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday morning, sparking brief concerns but ultimately ending without injuries or damage.
The airline confirmed the incident in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, who noted that flight P47190 veered slightly off the runway after a safe landing.
“Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport,” the airline’s spokesperson said.
The aircraft reportedly slipped off course during taxiing but did not sustain any damage, and all passengers disembarked safely and calmly.
“The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage,” Air Peace stated.
The airline added that no injuries were recorded, and operations at the airport were not significantly disrupted by the event.
Air Peace also used the occasion to reassure passengers and the general public of its dedication to safety protocols and international aviation standards.
“We reassure the flying public of our unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations,” the statement concluded.
