Akwa Ibom First Lady, Patience Umo Eno, Dies After Illness

Patience Umo Eno, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, has died following an illness, the state’s commissioner for information, Ini Ememobong, confirmed in a statement issued early on Friday.

According to the statement made available to Okay.ng, the first lady died peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in a hospital, surrounded by her family.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital in the presence of her family,” the statement read.

Ememobong added that more details about her passing would be provided later, while also expressing Governor Umo Eno’s gratitude to those who have offered their support during this difficult period.

“The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted individuals during this difficult time. Further details will be provided by the family as necessary. In the meantime, the family kindly requests privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.”

Governor Umo Eno also assured citizens of Akwa Ibom that despite this personal loss, his commitment to serving the state remains steadfast.
