Uyo, Nigeria – Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno says the Treasury Single Account policy has boosted the state’s internally generated revenue from about 2 billion naira (approximately 1.3 million US dollars) to 7 billion naira (about 4.6 million US dollars) monthly within three months of implementation.

Okay News reports that the policy, introduced on January 1, 2026, requires all ministries, departments, and agencies to remit government revenues into a centralized account to improve transparency and accountability. Governor Eno stated during a monthly prayer service that the increase in revenue marks progress toward making the state financially self-sustaining.

He emphasized that the goal is to raise internally generated revenue to a level where it can cover workers’ salaries without reliance on federal allocations. Eno urged government agencies and financial stakeholders to comply fully with TSA rules, warning that any compromise or sabotage would be addressed firmly.

The governor added that his administration’s development agenda is guided by the ARISE blueprint, a plan designed to meet the state’s long-term needs. He assured residents that projects are being executed sequentially to ensure sustainable transformation.

Eno also called on citizens to maintain peace and unity during the political season, stressing that the government remains committed to prioritizing security and welfare. He said development requires patience and collective support from the people.
