He noted that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff had subjected himself to screening by the National Convention Screening Committee on Friday wherein he praised the transparent process, only to cite a court order, on Saturday, in a press conference when the result of the screening committee did not favour him.

The governor said that by his anti-party actions, the former Acting National Chairman has proved his numerous critics right that he was out to destroy the PDP.

Governor Wike who served as Chairman of the 2016 National Convention Planning Committee said that the main associates of the Former Acting National Chairman were not trustworthy.

“In my entire political career, I have never seen a man with many opponents as Senator Sheriff; Modu Sheriff should apologise to the party,”, Governor Wike said.

The governor said the Former Acting National Chairman filed a suit against the the party, but lied about his involvement in that suit which was later discovered by the PDP stakeholders.

He urged stakeholders to support the Caretaker Committee of the PDP to lead the party to success going forward.

In a statement in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike noted that the former Acting National Chairman participated in all the processes leading to the National Convention, including the screening exercise where he was disqualified.
