Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo, popularly known as Killaboi, has been extradited to Nigeria to face charges related to the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe.

Nnanyereugo, who had been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in 2023, was returned to the country from Doha, Qatar, in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025. This was confirmed in a statement issued by Force spokesperson, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi.

According to the police, his return was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja, and Qatari judicial authorities. “The fugitive who had been on the run for the murder of Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe was returned to the country… through coordinated efforts,” the statement said.

The extradition process was initiated following a petition filed by the family of the deceased through their legal team on September 29, 2024. INTERPOL NCB Abuja was tasked with investigating the matter.

Findings by the police revealed that Miss Onuwabhagbe, a 21-year-old first-class student of Lead City University, Ibadan, was allegedly killed by Nnanyereugo at his residence on Abiola Apooyi Street, Oral Estate, Ajah, Lagos, on July 13, 2023.

Shortly after the incident, Nnanyereugo fled the country and later posted a video online, seemingly confessing to the crime — a move police described as an attempt to mislead and obstruct investigations.

His initial arrest occurred in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on October 20, 2023. However, he reportedly escaped custody during a prison break on November 26, 2023. The police further disclosed that Nnanyereugo had assumed a false identity and relocated to Qatar using a fake passport.

The suspect is now in custody and is expected to face legal proceedings in connection with the alleged crime.
