Former Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Tambuwal disclosed to Okay News that he had formally communicated his resignation to his ward chairman in writing after what he described as deep reflection and consultations.
He expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunities it provided during his political career, including serving as Speaker of the House of Representatives and later as Governor of Sokoto State.
According to him, the party’s persistent internal crisis, leadership disputes, and growing divisions made it increasingly difficult for him to remain a member. He noted that the developments had weakened the unity and direction that once defined the party.
Tambuwal added that he has now moved to the ADC alongside his associates and supporters, stating that he believes Nigeria needs a stronger political platform built on integrity, accountability, inclusiveness, and a clear commitment to national development. He reaffirmed his commitment to democracy, justice, national unity, and continued service to the country.
