Embattled former FIFA and CAF Executive Committee member, Dr. Amos Adamu, has retired from football administration.

Dr. Amos Adamu

In a chat, the 64-year-old, who was recently banned for two years by the world governing body, said he was through with football and devoting his time to other ventures.

“I’m through with football politics. My focus has changed, I want to devote my time to do other things, I want to serve God, so I’m back to the school of Theology.”

Adamu was Nigeria’s top ranked football official in the international bodies until November 2010, when he received a three-year ban and 10,000 Swiss franc fine from the FIFA Ethics Committee after being found guilty of breaching bribery rules.
