British-Nigerian heavyweight world champion, Anthony Joshua is reportedly planning to end his professional boxing career following a tragic car crash in Nigeria. The accident, which occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulted in the deaths of two of his longtime team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, while Joshua survived with minor injuries.

Okay News gathered that the boxer’s uncle, Adedamola Joshua, confirmed the decision, noting that the 36-year-old privately informed his family of his intent to step away from the ring.

The family expressed a sense of relief regarding the news, citing the immense emotional distress and trauma they experienced whenever he competed.

Following the tragedy, Joshua attended funeral services in London and has publicly pledged to provide lifelong support to the families of his deceased colleagues.
