England, United Kingdom – British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua has confirmed plans to relocate from the United Kingdom to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, despite rising security tensions in parts of the region.
Okay News reports that the former heavyweight champion disclosed the change of residence through official business filings linked to his companies, including Sparta Promotions Limited and 258 Investments Limited. The documents indicate that the Olympic gold medalist will now be based in Dubai, a city he has frequently visited in recent years for training, holidays, and business engagements.
The move comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which have reportedly heightened security concerns across parts of the Middle East. However, Dubai continues to attract high-profile individuals due to its world-class sports facilities, luxury lifestyle, and tax-free income policy.
Joshua, who won gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics, has built a major business empire through boxing promotions and investments. His company Sparta Promotions reportedly generated millions of pounds in profit in recent years, making the relocation potentially significant from a financial and tax perspective.
The boxer has long maintained close ties with Dubai, previously conducting training sessions in the city and collaborating with several international athletes, including MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov. The relocation also follows a difficult period for Joshua after a road accident in Nigeria last year claimed the lives of two close associates.
With the move, Joshua joins a growing list of wealthy international figures choosing to base their businesses and lifestyles outside the United Kingdom.
