Antonio Conte speaks on starting Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata against Crystal Palace

By Promise Amadi

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has hinted at starting either Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata, for their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace this Saturday.

Conte has been roundly criticized for playing Eden Hazard as a ‘false nine’ in recent matches against Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City.

The Italian has opted to leave Giroud and Morata on the bench for those games.

However, speaking at his press conference ahead of the London Derby, he said he will pick either striker.

“Tomorrow, for sure we have this option to play with Giroud or Morata as a number 9. It is an important game and we want to try to get three points. We will see tomorrow which is my final decision.

“Morata is coming from a strange injury in his back. He was out for a long time. Giroud is working very well, everyday, he is in good physical condition, for sure, I trust a lot in all my players,” he said.
