The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed strong confidence that the ruling party will secure a decisive and nationwide victory in the 2027 general elections. He made this projection while hosting the leadership of the Women Leaders Support Advancement group at his residence in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, on Sunday.
During the meeting, Professor Yilwatda emphasised that the All Progressives Congress has continued to gain significant public trust across various regions of the country, driven by what he described as a growing acceptance of the governance style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to him, this momentum is evidence that the party is positioned to achieve a “convincing” win when Nigerians go to the polls in 2027.
In the course of his remarks, the chairman pointed out that preparations within the All Progressives Congress were progressing ahead of the crucial National Caucus and National Executive Committee sessions, which are scheduled to take place on December 18 and December 19 at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Okay News reports that these gatherings are expected to shape the party’s strategic direction for the next electoral cycle.
“Our party is fully prepared for the future, and by the grace of God, the All Progressives Congress will win convincingly in 2027,” he declared, reiterating his belief that the achievements of the current administration will strengthen public confidence in the ruling party.
Professor Yilwatda further explained that the Renewed Hope Agenda introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was designed with broad inclusiveness in mind. He stated that the policies being implemented were tailored to respond to the needs of women, young Nigerians, and citizens seeking transparent governance and widespread participation.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is deliberately structured to address the concerns of women, youths, and all Nigerians who desire good governance and inclusive leadership,” he said.
The All Progressives Congress chairman went on to praise the contributions of Nigerian women to grassroots political engagement. He encouraged members of the delegation to strengthen their efforts in mobilising support for the administration and the party.
“I want to appreciate your dedication and encourage you to remain consistent in taking the message of the All Progressives Congress to every community in Nigeria. Women remain the backbone of political mobilisation, and your role is critical to our success,” he added.
The visit created an opportunity for the Women Leaders Support Advancement group to reaffirm their commitment to increasing civic involvement among women nationwide. The Matron and Co-founder of the organisation, Dr. Martina Yilwatda, emphasised the need for the organisation to maintain strong visibility at the grassroots level.
“This platform must not only exist in name but must be felt in the homes, markets, and communities of our women. We must strengthen grassroots mobilisation, especially among women and youths, to deepen political participation and national development,” she stated.
Also speaking during the visit, the group’s Founder, Deborah Hornecker, who was accompanied by the Secretary, Zainab Musa, expressed gratitude to the National Chairman and his wife for the support the organisation has continued to receive.
“We sincerely appreciate the love and support shown to us by the All Progressives Congress chairman and his wife. We assure you that Women Leaders Support Advancement will mobilise women across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to support the All Progressives Congress and ensure victory for the party in 2027,” she said.
The delegation pledged to intensify efforts to highlight the accomplishments of President Tinubu’s administration and encourage more women to take part in national politics.
The comments by the All Progressives Congress chairman come at a time when the party continues to reorganise its structures in preparation for the 2027 elections, with an emphasis on nationwide unity and internal coordination.
