The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has strongly condemned an alleged assault involving Governor’s aide Adamu Abdullahi Danko and councillor Abdulrahman Abubakar, after a video of the incident went viral.

Civil society groups, including Amnesty International, have called for justice and the aide’s immediate dismissal.

APC’s state publicity secretary, Moses Kyari, described the act as “deeply troubling” and inconsistent with the party’s values, noting that the incident was carried out at the individual’s discretion. An internal investigation has been launched, and all parties involved have been summoned.

The party commended the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, for suspending the aide pending the investigation, promising a thorough, transparent review of all circumstances surrounding the altercation.
