Abuja, NIGERIA — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced a further extension of the timelines for the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2027 General Elections.
In a statement released on Monday, by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party confirmed that the adjustment was made to accommodate the high volume of interested aspirants across various elective positions.
Under the new schedule, the Sale of Forms has been extended to midnight on Wednesday, May 6, while the Submission of Completed Forms will now close at midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Okay News reports that this 48-hour window is critical for aspirants in states like Gombe and Adamawa, where “consensus” battles and late-entry declarations from outgoing governors have intensified. The subsequent Screening of Aspirants is now set to commence on Friday, May 8, concluding on Tuesday, May 12, with the final Publication of Screened Aspirants expected on Wednesday, May 13.
This extension comes amidst a flurry of activity within the party, including Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s recent senatorial declaration and the internal friction in Gombe involving Professor Isa Pantami.
