The All Progressives Congress has finally faced the reality of the situation it has found itself – and admitted the fact that it is helpless over the fact that Bukola Saraki has won the Senate Presidency despite the party’s opposition.

The party had earlier rejected Saraki’s victory and threatened to discipline him and the new speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

However on Friday, the national chairman John Odigie-Oyegun said the party has made an about-turn on the matter.

He fielded questions from journalists after the submission of the Ahmed Joda transition committee report to Pres. Buhari at the Defence House today.

Odigie-Oyegun said it’s time for the party to face reality and work with the current leadership of the National Assembly.

He said the party will resolve its issues and come out of this phase stronger.

“Of course he has been duly elected by his colleagues,” Mr. Oyegun said. “We have a reality and we must live with it.”

The chairman however disagreed with those who said that this disagreement is the beginning of the end of APC.

“No, it is not the first or second time we have passed through and we came out strong. This may not even be the last time, we come out every time stronger and more determined,” he said.
