Abuja, Nigeria – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed shock and sadness over the death of one of its prominent members, Dr. Chamberlain Dunkwu, who passed away at the age of 54.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC described the late Dunkwu as a loyal and selfless party man who played a key role in building and strengthening the party in Ika Federal Constituency of Delta State and beyond.
Until his death on March 7, 2026, Dunkwu served as Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative) to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas. He previously worked as Special Adviser on Members’ Affairs to the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The party noted that Dunkwu, who was also a Knight of Saint Christopher and President of the Nigerian Aquatics Federation, lived a life dedicated to service and philanthropy.
According to the APC, his passing has created a significant void within the party and among those whose lives he impacted.
The ruling party prayed for strength and comfort for his family, friends, and APC members in Ika Federal Constituency, Delta State, and across the country during this difficult period.
