Published

ABUJA, Nigeria – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has congratulated the four candidates of the party who secured decisive victories in Saturday’s legislative by-elections conducted across four states by the Independent National Electoral Commission, party officials confirmed at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

The congratulatory message follows official electoral declarations confirming parliamentary victories for Hon. Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State; Hon. Husseini Datti in the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency of Kano State; Hon. Okolosi Ator in the Udu State Constituency of Delta State; and Hon. Yakubu Ali in the Disina State Constituency of Bauchi State.

Okay News reports that in an official statement released on Sunday afternoon on behalf of the APC National Working Committee, Professor Yilwatda maintained that the decisive outcomes across diverse geopolitical zones represent a clear reaffirmation of the electorate’s faith in the ruling party’s governance trajectory.

“These victories reflect the confidence placed in our candidates and the APC by the electorate,” Professor Yilwatda stated. “I commend our candidates, party leaders, state chapters, campaign teams, and, most importantly, the voters for their commitment to the democratic process.”

The party chairman commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, inter-agency security forces, and local civic observers for ensuring that voting, logistics, and result collation proceeded transparently and peacefully across the polling units.

Charging the lawmakers-elect to translate their ballot triumph into responsive governance, Professor Yilwatda urged them to prioritize constituent welfare, legislative diligence, and community empowerment over political complacency.

“To our victorious candidates, this victory is a call to service,” the APC national chairman remarked. “I urge you to remain humble and committed to delivering purposeful representation to your constituents. On behalf of the APC National Working Committee, I congratulate our candidates and the entire APC family across the four states.”

Professor Yilwatda reaffirmed the national leadership’s dedication to strengthening internal cohesion and party structures, stating that the ruling party remains united and committed to building a stronger political movement in the service of all Nigerians as preparations accelerate toward the 2027 general elections.
