JOS, Nigeria – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Martina Yilwatda, paid a solemn visit to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) on Saturday to stand in solidarity with victims of the recent Angwan Rukuba attack.
Okay News reports that during the visit, Professor Yilwatda engaged with those receiving treatment, describing the March 29 assault as “painful, barbaric, and unacceptable.” He emphasized that the tragic incident, which claimed several lives in Jos North, must not be allowed to become a “normal story” in the state’s history.
“What happened in Angwan Rukuba is a direct assault on our shared humanity,” Yilwatda stated. He reassured the victims and their families of the Federal Government’s firm resolve, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to bring an end to the “senseless killings” and ensure the protection of every Nigerian life.
The APC Chairman also extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, offering prayers for their strength and comfort. He expressed his sincere appreciation to the management and staff of JUTH for their professional and swift response in providing life-saving care to the injured.
Concluding his visit with a call for collective action, Yilwatda urged leaders and citizens alike to act with urgency and unity. “This tragedy must awaken all of us,” he said, adding a firm declaration that “Plateau must not bleed again.”
