ABUJA, Nigeria — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to receive the All Progressives Congress (APC) certificate of return and the party’s official flag as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The items will be presented on Sunday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, following the nationwide collation of the party’s presidential primary election results.
Okay News reports that the presentation will be conducted by the APC Presidential Primary Elections Committee as part of the formal conclusion of the primary process.
The event is expected to host APC governors, members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), the National Working Committee (NWC), and lawmakers from the National Assembly, alongside various party stakeholders.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the scheduled event in a state house statement issued on Saturday.
The presentation officially cements President Tinubu’s position as the ruling party’s standard-bearer as political parties conclude their primary selections ahead of the upcoming general elections.
