APC Wins House of Reps Re-run Election in Adamawa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa State has declared the results of the rerun election held on Saturday in Lamurde, Numan and Demsa Federal Constituency of Adamawa State.

According to INEC, Talatu Yuhanna of the APC polled 24,126 votes to emerge in the lead while PDP’s Michael Afurrozidin trailed with a total of 11,513 votes.

Out of the 178, 471 registered voters, only 44,577 turned out for accreditation and 44,028 votes were cast but 1,293 of it were counted as rejected votes.

Although there were reports of low turnout, the election has been adjudged peaceful as there is no record of violence during the exercise.
