BIRNIN KEBBI, Nigeria: Armed assailants attacked the community of Tsamiya in Kebbi State on the night of Saturday, June 20, 2026, burning several structures and abducting one resident.
Following the incident, Okay News reports that the Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the attack and immediately deployed tactical security personnel to the affected area.
During the late-night attack, the assailants fired sporadically and burned a makeshift checkpoint belonging to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, a local brothel, and the residence of an individual identified as Sule Mai Goge. The attackers also kidnapped a resident named Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare before fleeing the location.

Security agencies responded to reinforce the area while police authorities started searching for the missing resident. “A comprehensive investigation into the incident has since commenced, and efforts to rescue the kidnapped victim and track the perpetrators are ongoing,” Usman said.
“The Command assures residents of Tsamiya and environs that security operations will continue until normalcy is fully restored,” the statement said. Police authorities requested that members of the public remain calm and provide credible information to assist with the ongoing operation.
