Armed bandits attack Zamfara community, kill 9

Armed bandits have reportedly killed nine people during an attack Friday night at Tudun Wada area of Ruwan Baure ward in Gusau, Zamfara State.

According to a source who spoke to DAILY NIGERIAN on condition of anonymity, said that several other persons including children sustained injuries during the attack.

Some of the injured ones were taken to Mada hospital while others with critical situations were taken to another hospital in Gusau town, the source said.

The source also confirmed herds of cattle and other domestic animals were also carted away by the bandits.

“This act of killings and kidnapping of persons have been going on in our area for more than one month now.

“We have been reporting to the police and other security agents but they would only come and go nothing concrete is being done to put a stop to these atrocities by the bandits.

“All we want is for the security personnel to be stationed permanently in the Ruwan Baure ward so that they could secure and protect the innocent people,” he cried out.

The source added that 9 victims were buried Saturday morning.
