Armed thugs storm polling units in Kogi, snatch ballot boxes

Armed thugs stormed a polling units opposite Bishop Delisle Catholic Cathedral in Lokoja, Kogi, as they snatch ballot boxes after shooting to scare away voters.

According to reports reaching Okay Nigeria, the armed thugs were dressed in police and army uniforms, scaring away voters at the polling unit.

Sunday Adwjoh, a staff of the Justice, Development, and Peace Commission, revealed in a phone call that many people from Karaworo Polling Station ran into the church premises for safety.

In his words, “as we are talking, all of us are lying down to escape being hit by stray bullets.”

However, A man was shot on the leg at a polling unit at Oke Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area, as some people stormed the polling unit to snatch ballot box and other materials.

Tunde Oladipo, who was identified as the victim, was shot when he when trying to prevent the armed thugs from snatching the ballot box at the polling unit.
