Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a commanding 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, keeping their slim title hopes alive.

Meanwhile, Chelsea edged Leicester 2-1 to move up to third place, and Manchester City aim to end their four-game losing streak against Tottenham later.

Arsenal Back on Track

The Gunners had been winless in their previous four league games and started the weekend nine points behind leaders Liverpool. However, a clinical display at the Emirates Stadium reignited their season.

Martin Odegaard’s return from injury was pivotal as he set up Bukayo Saka for the opener in the 15th minute. Saka then turned provider, assisting Thomas Partey for a stunning strike early in the second half.

Seventeen-year-old Ethan Nwaneri capped off the performance by scoring his first Premier League goal after connecting with Raheem Sterling’s cross, securing Arsenal’s dominant win.

Chelsea Secure Narrow Win

Chelsea climbed above Arsenal on goals scored after a hard-fought win at Leicester. Nicolas Jackson scored his seventh goal of the season to give the Blues a first-half lead. Despite wasting numerous chances, Chelsea doubled their advantage 15 minutes from time when Enzo Fernandez nodded in after Jackson’s initial header was saved.

Leicester managed a late consolation through Jordan Ayew’s stoppage-time penalty but remain perilously close to the relegation zone, sitting just two points above safety.

Other Results

  • Aston Villa 2-2 Crystal Palace: Villa came from behind twice to salvage a draw at home. Goals from Ismaila Sarr and Justin Devenny put Palace ahead, but Ollie Watkins and a header from Ross Barkley ensured a share of the spoils.
  • Brighton 2-1 Bournemouth: Under the impressive leadership of 31-year-old manager Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton climbed to fifth. Goals from Joao Pedro and Kaoru Mitoma sealed the win despite playing the final 30 minutes with 10 men after Carlos Baleba was sent off.
  • Wolves 4-1 Fulham: Wolves moved out of the bottom three with a dominant display at Craven Cottage. Matheus Cunha scored twice, with Joao Gomes and Goncalo Guedes adding to the tally in a second consecutive win for manager Gary O’Neil.
  • Everton 0-0 Brentford: Despite playing against 10 men for most of the game after Christian Norgaard’s early red card, Everton failed to capitalize in a goalless draw at Goodison Park.

Sunday’s Action

  • Liverpool travel to bottom-of-the-table Southampton in search of consolidating their lead at the top of the table.
  • Manchester United, under new manager Ruben Amorim, face Ipswich Town in the standout game of the day.
