The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, says it would not call off the ongoing strike until the Federal Government fully implements all the offers it made to the union after their last meeting.

The union says it is tired of Federal Government’s antics of making unfulfilled promises, insisting that the strike would be called off when members see evidence of satisfactory implementation of all that was proposed.

ASUU also says it would not be participating in the general election but its members may voluntarily participate in the conduct of the elections.

This came as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said that ad hoc staff, to be deployed for the conduct of the 2019 elections would undergo thorough screening to ascertain whether they have criminal records with the police and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
