The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his willingness to work with the candidates of the New Nigerian People Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

Atiku made this known in a 15-minute interview with BBC Hausa service on Tuesday.

During the interview, Atiku stated that he sees no threat in the other presidential candidates and is open to the possibility of collaborating with them.

“Although I see no threat in any of them, we are in talks, and the discussion might yield a positive result,” Atiku said in the Hausa language.

When asked about the ongoing crisis in the PDP, Atiku acknowledged that each party has its internal crisis and PDP is not an exception. However, he assured that they are working towards resolving the differences.

“Each party has its internal crisis, we are still talking with them,” Atiku said. “Most are neither in PDP nor in other parties and definitely that will not make us lose the election because we are okay with the election preparations for now.”

Atiku added that the election is no longer controlled by a governor dictating who to vote for, rather, it is now in the hands of the voters. “Election today is in the hands of the voters,” he said.
