Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar lauded the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for winning the council elections in Rivers State.
PDP clinched all twenty-three chairmanship positions in the election held on Saturday.
While reacting to the election victory, Atiku praised Governor Nyesom Wike and the PDP for “returning power to the people.”
According to him, the victory is an indication that PDP is the preferred choice of the people.
”The results of Rivers LG polls show that slowly and surely, power is returning to the people,” the Turaki Adamawa tweeted.
”Congratulations to Gov. Wike and the entire exco and hardworking members of @OfficialPDPNig in Rivers for proving that our great party is the preferred choice.”
