Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness over the death of Mr. Ifeanyi Izeze, a pioneer member of his media team.

Okay News reports that Atiku said Izeze joined his media team in 2006 as Office Manager after leaving the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) in Ikot-Abasi, bringing with him extensive experience in the media and Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

According to the former vice president, Izeze played a significant role during a critical stage of his political career and contributed to shaping campaign policies for his presidential bids, particularly in the Niger Delta and the oil and gas sector.

Atiku noted that Izeze trained as a geologist at the University of Port Harcourt up to postgraduate level but later built a career in journalism, reporting extensively on the oil and gas industry for several newspapers including the defunct Sunray, Anchor and NewAge.

He described the late media aide as a valued member of his team whose contributions were important in developing communication and policy strategies during his campaigns.

Izeze is survived by his children, grandchildren and his elder brother, Pastor Emeka Izeze of The Guardian Newspapers.

Atiku prayed for God to grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort his family, friends and colleagues.
