The Australian government has called on its citizens to leave Iran immediately, citing a volatile security situation caused by escalating nationwide protests.

Officials warned of a high risk of detention for foreign nationals and confirmed that embassy operations in the region have been suspended, leaving those who remain responsible for their own safety.

Okay News reports that India has similarly issued a travel advisory, urging its nationals to avoid all non-essential travel to the country until further notice.

Indian citizens currently within the territory are being encouraged to avoid protest areas, keep away from large gatherings, and maintain a close watch on local news updates as the internal crisis unfolds.

The widespread demonstrations follow a sharp decline in the Iranian economy and the rapid collapse of the local currency. Violent clashes have been reported across several cities, resulting in multiple casualties among both civilians and law enforcement officers as the government struggles to contain the unrest.
