The Australian National Imams Council (ANIC), the Council of Imams NSW, and the Australian Muslim community have issued a strong public condemnation of the Bondi shootings, describing the incident as a horrific act of violence that has shaken communities across the country.

In the statement released on 14 December 2025, ANIC said the shootings had “no place in our society” and stressed that those responsible must be held fully accountable under the law.

Okay News reports that the message emphasised the urgent need for justice and collective healing at a time of broad national distress.

“These acts of violence and crimes have no place in our society. Those responsible must be held fully accountable and face the full force of the law,” the statement read.

The council extended condolences to victims, their families, witnesses, and all those traumatised by the attack.

It acknowledged the pain, fear, and distress reverberating across the wider community and offered its “sincere compassion and support to all who are grieving.”

Leaders of the Muslim community urged Australians to remain vigilant, exercise caution, and support one another during what they described as a deeply challenging period.

According to the statement, unity and compassion are essential for overcoming the shock and emotional toll of the tragedy.

“This is a moment for all Australians, including the Australian Muslim community, to stand together in unity, compassion, and solidarity, rejecting violence in all its forms and affirming our shared commitment to social harmony and the safety of all Australians,” the leaders added.
