The Nigeria Police Complaint Response Unit has negated the widely held belief that Nigerians are expected to pay before they are released on bail.

In a sensitization move, Police CRU tweeted: “Bail is free. You are not expected to pay for bail.
Women are equally eligible to stand surety.”

The Police CRU have developed multiple means of communication with Nigerians including Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook and BBM.
