Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko escaped serious injury on Thursday after crashing his car on his way home from training.

Reports say the 23-year-old was driving home when he veered off the road on Blundel Lane near Blues’ Cobham training base in the afternoon.

The player is understood to be at home resting.

The Police were said to have arrived at the scene at 4.40pm, and have confirmed that no other vehicle was involved in the incident.

“Surrey Police attended Blundel Lane in Oxshot around 4.40pm today following a one vehicle collision. The driver did not suffer any injuries,” Police said in a statement.
