Kaduna, Nigeria – The leader of a local security volunteer group in Sokoto State alleged on Monday, June 22, 2026, that wanted bandit leader Bello Turji has acquired advanced weapons and partnered with the extremist group Boko Haram to establish a militant training camp.
Bashir Altine Guyawa Isa, the leader of the Rundunar Adalchi vigilante group, stated the wanted terrorist leader is strengthening his operational capacity through alliances with extremist factions in Nigeria’s North-West region. Okay News reports that Isa outlined the security threat during an interview with the BBC Hausa Service.
Intelligence gathered by local security volunteers indicates the training camp is located near the border of Sokoto State and Zamfara State. Isa alleged that Boko Haram members are providing training and logistical support at this strategic base to arm recruits for future operations.
The vigilante leader claimed that the militants are planning to expand their operations beyond rural communities to target high-profile installations and prominent individuals. He stated that relevant government authorities are aware of the camp’s existence and urged security agencies to dismantle the facility.
Isa warned that a failure to act swiftly will expose more communities to violent crimes across the affected states. Security authorities in Nigeria have not publicly commented on the claims, and the allegations have not been independently verified.
