The Zamfara state government has promised to reward N300,000 to persons or group that exposes those that feed criminals with information in the state.

The announcement was made by the state’s Commissioner of Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Bello Dankande, at a news conference in Gusau on Sunday.

He said intelligence gathered had revealed that most of the attacks carried out by bandits in the state resulted from information emanating from the informers, many of whom lived within the attacked communities.

Dankande explained that the recent measure introduced to take the photograph of animals and their owners before they were allowed into markets in the state was already yielding positive results.

“Cattle rustlers no longer have free movement with stolen animals in the state because of the measure put in place and the cooperation of the citizens, ” he said.
