Barcelona continued their impressive run in La Liga with a 2–0 victory over Osasuna at the Spotify Camp Nou, extending their winning streak to seven matches and opening a seven-point lead at the top of the table.
Osasuna adopted a defensive approach from the outset, deploying five defenders and packing midfield to frustrate the hosts. Barcelona dominated possession but found clear chances difficult to come by in the first half.
The home side thought they had taken the lead midway through the opening period when Ferran Torres headed in Marcus Rashford’s cross, but the goal was ruled out after VAR adjudged Raphinha to be offside in the build-up.
Barcelona resorted to efforts from distance as the half wore on, with Pau Cubarsí, Alejandro Balde and Raphinha all testing their luck without success. Ferran Torres came closest, flashing a close-range effort narrowly wide.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the second half when Raphinha collected a pass from Pedri before driving a low shot across goalkeeper Sergio Herrera and into the far corner to give Barcelona the lead.
The Brazilian forward sealed the victory late on, reacting quickest after Jules Koundé’s cross was deflected into his path, allowing him to score from close range with four minutes remaining.
The result strengthens Barcelona’s grip on the La Liga title race, with Hansi Flick’s side now seven points clear of second-placed Real Madrid, who are scheduled to face Alavés on Sunday.
