Spanish football giants Barcelona are reportedly planning a move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they prepare for life after Robert Lewandowski.
Okay News gathered that the Galatasaray forward emerged as a top target for the La Liga champions, with reports indicating that the club’s sporting director, Deco, is considering bringing the prolific striker to Camp Nou during the summer transfer window.
Lewandowski’s contract is expected to expire at the end of the season, prompting Barcelona to search for a long-term replacement. Former Barcelona star Thierry Henry had also recently suggested that the club needs a high-level striker like Osimhen.
Despite growing interest from several European clubs, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has insisted that Osimhen’s contract does not contain a release clause. The Turkish champions are believed to value the striker at around €150 million, following his impressive performances since joining the club.
Ozbek also dismissed speculation linking the Nigerian international with Juventus and Bayern Munich, stressing that there is no agreement allowing him to leave for a predetermined fee.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September 2024 before completing a permanent move in 2025 for about €75 million, has been in outstanding form, scoring 53 goals in 65 matches across all competitions.
The 27-year-old striker remains under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029, but continued interest from Europe’s elite clubs suggests his future could become a major talking point in the upcoming transfer window.
