Bauchi Commissioner Dies in Car Accident, Gov Bala Mourns

Ahmed Aliyu Jalam, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has died in a car accident while traveling to his hometown in Jalam, Dambam Local Government Area. The fatal crash occurred on Saturday, June 1, also claiming the life of his driver.

Governor Bala Mohammed confirmed Jalam’s death in a statement, describing his demise as “sudden and deeply felt”. The governor extended his condolences to Jalam’s family and the entire state, praying for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him paradise.

Jalam, 60, is survived by his wives and children. He had served in various roles, including Commissioner for Religious Affairs, councilor, caretaker chairman, and executive chairman in Dambam LGA. His burial will take place today, Sunday, June 2, at 11:00 am in his hometown.
